Axis Green Arts

Axis Green Arts Department

Maeve was invited to create the first Green Arts Department in the country at Axis:Ballymun in 2020 and has been working with the brilliant team in Ballymun on a variety of projects since including Abi Ighodaro who recently joined as an embedded artist. Maeve offers artist support in one on one sessions and oversees ‘Green Circles’ which offer peer support and community and leads on creative projects and commissions.

Throughout 2021 and 2022 Maeve Stone worked on a project called The Community Vault. The documentary film at the heart of the work was filmed by Alex Gill and exhibited at Axis February 1st - March 17th 2022.

The Community Vault was created through a series of processes including an 8 week direct engagement with a core group of participants two Elders, two middle age people and two students; five days of interviews across the wider Ballymun Community and the design of an exhibition based on information gathered through those interviews, culminating in an interactive exhibition which ran from 1st February to 17 March.
